Mexico City (Reuters) -Russia is ready to supply Liquated Natural Gas (LNG) to Mexico to Mexico, and on Saturday, the Russian Embassy in Mexico on Saturday X.

“We are already working with Mexico. We have excellent LNG technologies and we are ready to share these technologies and supply LNG.” He said.

The embassy added that Russia is ready to provide solutions that aim to increase oil processing effectiveness as well as geological conditions suitable for the challenge.

Mexico’s state oil company Pemex said in May that the government is working to reopen the production of closed wells because the government struggles to meet the target of 1.8 million barrels per day.

Pemex has more than 30,000 wells around the country, about one third closes. The internal documents examined by Reuters show that the company gives priority with the potential to increase raw, gas or condensate output, but progress has been slow due to limited financing and aging infrastructure.

Mexico meets 72% of natural gas demand through imports from the United States. Fuel is mainly used for electricity and for industrial activities, by the vast majority of gas imports transported by the pipeline.

In January, sources told Reuters Mexico that he has accelerated his plans to double strategic gas storage with concerns about us. President Donald Trump It can use the country’s dependence on US gas as a leverage.

The US imports, which have been emphasized by interruptions that cause widespread interruptions and losses such as Texas Winter Storm, forced Mexico to increase its storage capacity until 2025-2026 to increase energy security and provide protection against supply shocks or geopolitical risks.

Pemex and Mexican Presidency did not immediately respond to the request for comments.
