Russia sends chilling WW3 threat to Ukraine after ‘Putin’s palace attacked’ | World | News

Russia has issued a chilling threat to Ukraine after Moscow accused Kiev of launching a drone attack on Vladimir Putin’s residence. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday, December 29, that Moscow shot down 91 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles over Putin’s Valdai residence in Novgorod.
However, minutes after the declaration, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the claim, calling it “a new round of lies” and warned that Russia was preparing to attack Kiev Government buildings. Mr Lavrov said the Kremlin’s stance on negotiations to end the war in Ukraine would be “reviewed” because of the attack. He told Russian state media: “Such reckless actions will not remain unanswered.” It is alleged that the UK was also involved in the attack.

Meanwhile, Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Alexander Grushko, claimed that Britain was involved in the alleged attack to disrupt the peace process.
Putin reportedly mentioned the alleged attack in a phone call with the US President Donald Trump Monday left the US president “shocked,” according to Kremlin spokesman Yuri Ushakov.
Putin’s heavily fortified Valdai presidential residence is located on the shores of Lake Valdai in Russia’s northwestern Novgorod Oblast, about 357 miles northwest of Moscow.
It was not clear whether Putin was at home at the time of the alleged strike.
The allegation came just hours after Mr. Trump hosted Mr. Zelensky at his Mar-a-Lago home on Sunday, Dec. 28; where the US president claimed a deal was “closer than ever”.
