The Kremlin said on Friday, March 6, 2026, that it will not disclose data on Russia’s crude oil exports to India and will keep it secret from “numerous malicious persons”.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s comments came hours after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington had granted a temporary 30-day exemption to allow Indian refiners to buy Russian oil amid the West Asian conflict.

“No, of course, we will not present any quantitative data for obvious reasons. That’s the first thing. There are too many ill-wishers,” Mr. Peskov said.

He was asked to comment on reports in the Indian media about Moscow’s ability to ship 22 million barrels of crude oil per week.

Earlier on Thursday, Russian state television presented a map showing scores of tankers heading from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal towards Indian refineries on the East Coast.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said his country is ready to increase crude oil supplies to India and China, which are affected by the virtual closure of oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz due to US-Israeli attacks on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory attacks.
