Russian drone attack on Kyiv leaves three people dead and dozens wounded, mayor says | Ukraine

Three people were killed and dozens injured in a Russian drone attack on Kiev overnight, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital said.
The head of Kiev’s military administration said early Sunday that “several” Russian drones were operating over the city and warned people to “stay in shelter.”
Mayor Vitali Klitschko later said that “according to preliminary information, 3 people were killed and 27 people were injured” in the attack.
Klitschko wrote on Telegram that six children were among the injured.
He said drone fragments fell into a nine-story residential building in the northeastern Desnyansky district, causing a fire in apartments on multiple floors.
He said the debris also damaged another nine-storey block in the same area, where five people were rescued.
More drone parts fell into a 16-storey residential block in the northern Obolonsky district, damaging an apartment, Klitschko said.
The attacks came a day after other Russian drone and missile strikes in Kiev killed four people and injured nearly 20 others, according to Ukrainian officials.
US President Donald Trump on Saturday downplayed the possibility of a summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, saying he would “not waste my time”.
The remarks came as Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev met with Trump administration officials, including special envoy Steve Witkoff, a Russian source familiar with the talks told AFP. Discussions were expected to continue on Sunday.
