Rwanda-backed rebels massacre civilians in Congo

Human Rights Monitoring Organization said that Rwanda -backed M23 rebels killed at least 140 people in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Eastern Democratic Congo in July.
A report made by the independent, civil society Human Rights Organization published on Wednesday emphasizes how violence increased despite the US and Qatar -backed peace talks.
The advocacy group provided new details about the killing madness reported by Reuters for the first time in July.
In July, the total murders in the Rutshuru region could exceed 300 and could reflect similar findings by the United Nations last month.
In the report, interviews with civilians said that HRW was saved from killings, explained how the attacks took place.
A woman who saw M23 killed her husband with a Pala, described that she walked into a river with about 70 women and children all day.
“They told us to sit on the edge of the river coast, and then they began to shoot at us,” she says. He said he survived after falling into the river without being shot.
Another man said that the M23 rebels killed his wife and watched four children from nine months to 10 years from a distance.
The murders took place on June 27th from a US pre -agreement between Congo and Rwanda and peace negotiations between the Congo and M23 rebels in Qatar.
M23 has previously rejected any role in the murders. The group did not respond to the request to comment on the report.
HRW, witness accounts in July in July in the Eastern Congo Virunga National Park at least 14 villages and agriculture in the field of agriculture, he said.
