Cyprus LIVE: Foreign Office latest travel advice to Brits after Iran attack | World | News

FCDO has advised against travel to parts of Türkiye, one of Cyprus’ neighboring countries.

It was recommended not to travel closer than 10 km to the Syrian border due to “war and increased terrorism risk”.

Travelers in the country have been advised to adhere to precautions, including:

– Monitoring local and international media for the latest information

– Avoiding areas around security or military facilities

– Reviewing departure plans and ensuring travel documents are up to date.

If you are advised to take shelter, you are told to stay inside or find the nearest safe building or designated shelter.

“An interior stairwell or a room with as few exterior walls or windows as possible can provide additional protection,” he added.

It warned that travel insurance could be voided if you travel against its advice.

While 24-hour consular support is available by phone or online, in-person consular support is severely limited in areas where the FCDO advises against travel.
