Norwegian biathlete Sturla Holm Laegreid apologized and admitted that she regretted admitting to cheating on her ex-girlfriend after winning the bronze medal at the Milan Cortina Olympics.

“I told him this a week ago. It was the worst week of my life.”
After the race, he was distraught, crying and hugging his friends. At a press conference, he explained why he decided to tell the world about his personal situation on air.
“This was the choice I made. We make different choices throughout our lives and that’s how we build life,” he told a room full of journalists. “So today, I chose to tell the world what I do, so maybe it has a chance to see what it really means to me. Maybe it doesn’t.”
“There are probably many people looking at me with different eyes, but my eyes only look at her,” he added. “Sports has taken a slightly different place in my life these past few days. Yes, I wish I could share it with him.”
Laegreid’s ex-girlfriend stated in an anonymous interview with a Norwegian news outlet that she was not willing to take him back.
