Foreign Office issues new travel advice for 21 countries – full list | UK | News

The Department of State (FCDO) has updated travel advisories for some countries due to the US-Israeli war with Iran and increasing instability in the Middle East. Brits in Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Qatar and the UAE need to register their presence to receive the latest updates from the FCDO.
More than 140,000 Brits signed up to the scheme after attacks on Iran began last Saturday; many were trapped due to closed airspace. Currently the FCDO advises against all travel to Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine and Syria. Restrictions also exist for certain regions of other countries.
For example, traveling within 5 km of the entire eastern border between Armenia and Azerbaijan or within 3 km of Jordan’s border with Syria is not recommended.
FCDO recommends that all travel within 10 km of Türkiye’s border with Syria be banned due to conflict and increased terrorism risk.
It is also not recommended to travel to the UAE, where many Brits holidaying in Dubai are stuck due to airport closures following Iranian missile attacks. While travel hubs are slowly starting to reopen, air traffic remains severely restricted.
