Sajjanar Pats Police for Keeping Hyderabad Safe

Hyderabad: City police commissioner VC Sajjanar congratulated the police for their dedicated efforts against drunk driving on New Year’s Eve, which he said ensured a peaceful transition to 2026. “I appreciate the dedication of every officer, from Home Guard to other police commissioners. It is this spirit of teamwork that makes Hyderabad a safer and truly global city.”
Sajjanar celebrated the new year at Charminar with his family and field officials. He said he personally monitored security arrangements in all nine districts throughout the night.
4 DJs Among 5 Consumers Held in Raids
Hyderabad: The EAGLE Force, in coordination with the prohibition and excise department and local police, raided several bars and resorts until the early hours of Thursday. Five people, including four disc jockeys (DJs), tested positive for drug consumption and were detained.
EAGLE Force director Sandeep Shandilya said police used advanced technology to detect drugs on the spot. “We screened 51 suspects for drugs with urine and saliva test kits,” he said.
Application teams carried out vehicle checks at important intersections and tested 38 people. One passenger tested positive for drug use.
