Crows superstar Izak Rankine appears to have popped his calf muscle.
He was running in a borderline track meet when he briefly stood up and started jumping.
He was immediately placed on the bench for treatment on his right calf.
“He fell short there,” said Fox commentator Jack Riewoldt. “It’s a big story.”
The Crows have a bye next week, so they will want to take him out now and give him extra time to heal.
The Crows’ medical staff rubbed Rankine’s calf and Rankine did some stretching exercises, but he appeared to be grimacing.
“He tried to quickly pass at the time and was quickly back on his feet,” Brad Johnson said on Fox. But Rankine is still consulting with the Crows squad and is reluctant to rule him out.
