Armed police reportedly descended on a busy area in Salford, Manchester, after reportedly stopping a man. Officers are at Broughton Park this afternoon. Photos and video footage posted on social media show a man lying face down on concrete, surrounded by armed police.

An eyewitness said there were “lots of police” in the Higher Broughton area. It is believed that surrounding roads are closed. Citizens are also warned to stay away from the area. The Daily Express has contacted Manchester Police for comment.
