Sankara Nethralaya’s five consultant ophthalmologists – Veena Baskaran, Suganeswari G., Niveditha Narayanan, Dhanashree Ratra and CK Parameswari – were recently awarded the Elizabeth Blackwell Award for excellence in education by the Association of Women Ophthalmologists and Women Ophthalmologists Worldwide.

Lingam Gopal, honorary senior ophthalmologist at the hospital, was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Vitreo-Retinal Society of India.
