Sarah Ferguson ‘supported’ by ‘rich and powerful friends’ amid scandal | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson has “rich and powerful” friends who will help her in her time of need, a royal commentator has claimed. The former Duchess of Edinburgh found herself without a royal title, career and home after a humiliating fall from grace over her friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Fergie has been out of the public eye since new details began to emerge towards the end of last year, just before the King revoked her title and forced her to move out of Royal Lodge with her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Fergie was last seen in public in December 2025, when she attended her granddaughter Athena Mapelli Mozzi’s private christening at St James’s Palace in London.

Fergie’s humiliation continued throughout the new year, culminating earlier this month when the US Department of Justice released a new tranche of documents relating to the convicted sex offender, many of which named the former duchess.

Now a royal expert has said she may have fled England to seek refuge in the homes of many of her wealthy friends around the world.

Royal commentator Ingrid Seward said: Mirror: “No one knows where he is now, so he could be anywhere, he could be in Dummer with his stepmother, he could be abroad.

“He probably has some rich and powerful friends who will stick with him because we know rich and powerful people love drama, and this is great drama, right?”

Ms Seward said Fergie could hope to make a comeback once the scandal calms down.

He said: “He has such a lovely personality.

“It’s a tragedy that the bad side is stronger than the good side.

“So the bad side is greed, stupidity, and wanting things obsessively. He desperately, desperately wants to be loved.”
