Sarah Ferguson’s 4 biggest scandals as she hatches ‘comeback’ plan | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly plotting a comeback to revive her public image in the UK after her latest appearance in the Epstein files. It has been widely reported that the former Duchess of York, 66, is trying to figure out the best way to improve her reputation in the UK.
It comes after the latest Epstein files revealed how close Sarah was to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, even after he was released from prison for child sex crimes. Although it is not yet known exactly what he plans to do, it is thought that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife is looking for a new PR team. It is also believed that he is looking for new ways to make a living, especially since he lost his royal title.
Here are the four biggest scandals Sarah Ferguson has faced…
Thumb sucking scandal
1. Toe sucking scandal
Five months after Sarah split from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in 1992, the former Duchess of York was photographed with her “financial advisor” at her holiday villa in St Tropez.
Photos that made front page headlines showed Sarah’s toes being sucked by John Bryan. This happened while their younger daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were also on holiday with the couple.
The photos were taken with long lenses and quickly became a scandal; It made the front pages when the Royal Family were at Balmoral Castle and Sarah Ferguson was there too.
Bryan has since said he kissed Sarah’s toes as part of family play and not as a sexual gesture towards the former duchess.

Epstein files

2. Epstein files
Over the past few months, Sarah has faced arguably the biggest scandal of all time. The US Department of Justice released what became known as the Epstein files; these were files primarily related to the behavior of the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Numerous emails between Epstein and Sarah can be found in these files. These are emails sent after Epstein was convicted of child sex crimes.
One email shows Sarah telling him he was like a “brother”, another shows him calling her a “legend” and another shows an email sent on Sarah’s behalf from Andrew’s PA inviting Epstein to a Palace party for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Other emails also show Sarah telling Epstein that her daughter, Princess Eugenie, was away for a “ridiculous weekend”.

Cash for access scandal

3. Cash-for-access scandal
In 2010, Sarah Ferguson was left “devastated” after being exposed in the cash-for-access scandal. This saw Sarah offer access to her ex-husband Andrew, then a British trade envoy, to an undercover reporter posing as a businessman.
Sarah was filmed accepting a cash deposit of $40,000 (£27,600) as part of a £500,000 deal to introduce the reporter, who was posing as an Indian businessman, to Andrew and make trade deals.
He is heard saying in the video: “For me it’s £500,000 when you can open the doors. Then, then you open all the channels, whatever you want, whatever you want, then that’s it, what, and then you meet Andrew and that’s okay.
“That’s when you unlock whatever you really want.”

Interviews that tell it all

4. Tell-all interviews
Sarah Ferguson also became unpopular after giving tell-all interviews. One of these interviews was with Oprah Winfrey in 1996.
The former duchess said in this interview: “You fall in love and marry a man, then you have to face the fairy tale.
“It’s not a fairy tale anymore, it’s real life out there, so to speak. They think it’s real life out there.”
Such comments were unlikely to go down well with the Royal Family.
