Savannah Guthrie’s mom missing in ‘concerning’ circumstances

“Today” host Savannah Guthrie has been reported missing from her mother’s Arizona home, and local authorities say they suspect foul play.

Monday morning, Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed detectives were transitioning their investigation from a missing person case to a criminal case.
“We actually have a crime scene, we actually have a crime,” Nanos said at a news conference.
“He didn’t leave on his own, we know that,” he said. “His mobility is very limited.”
Sunday night, Nanos said her disappearance did not appear to be a typical missing person case and that his department had already dispatched homicide detectives to her home.
“What we’re learning from home is pretty concerning,” Nanos said at a news conference late Sunday. He declined to comment on specifics but noted that Guthrie had a “good, sound mind” with no cognitive problems.
“This is not someone who just walks away,” Nanos repeated Monday morning.
On Monday morning, the “Today” host shared a statement from Savannah Guthrie thanking viewers for their “thoughts, prayers and messages of support.”
“Our focus at this time remains the safe return of our beloved mother,” the longtime “Today” personality and journalist wrote on behalf of her family. He encouraged anyone with information about his mother’s whereabouts to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
“Today” co-host Jenna Bush Hager said Monday morning that Nancy Guthrie needed some medication but appeared to be without it.
“We are doing our best to locate him,” Nanos said.
