Scuba diver: Woman in her 50s dies in suspected drowning at Nelson Bay, NSW

A scuba diver who was pulled from the water due to suspected drowning in the NSW Hunter Territory has died.
Emergency services were called to Fly Point in Nelson Bay at around 11am on Saturday after reports a female diver was in trouble in the water.
Officers from the Maritime Regional Command and the Raptor Team arrived at the scene.
The diver, believed to be in his 50s, was pulled from the water unresponsive and treated by paramedics.
He was taken to Tomaree General Hospital in critical condition but died on the way to the hospital.
The woman has not yet been officially identified.
In the police statement, it was said, “Police launched an investigation into the incident.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
