Police say the body of a man has been recovered after two swimmers went missing on Christmas Day.

Devon and Cornwall Police said emergency services were called to Exmouth Beach just before 15:00 GMT on Sunday following reports of a possible body sighting near the shore.

No formal identification has yet been made but officers said the family of a 64-year-old man from Budleigh Salterton have been notified.

The body of a 47-year-old man, thought to be the other of the two swimmers who disappeared on December 25, He was rescued on Tuesday.
