An extensive organ harvesting ring has been uncovered in Nigeria after weeks of undercover surveillance, local officials said.

A man identified as High Chief Stanley Oparaugo of Jessy Best Hotel is now wanted.
Oparaugo is alleged to be the owner of Jessy Best Hotel in Ihitte Okwe and the nearby mortuary known as Ugwudi.
Police said the victims were brought to the hotel before being robbed and kidnapped, and their families forced to pay ransom.

He added that the suspect’s home was also searched and “important exhibits” were seized, while forensic teams were documenting evidence relevant to the ongoing investigation.
“Maximum security has been ensured along the Owerri-Aba Expressway. The command assures passengers of its commitment to their safety during the holiday,” he added.
