New video of the protester killed by federal agents in Minneapolis on Saturday morning appeared to contradict the narrative put forth by the Department of Homeland Security.
Following the shooting, DHS posted on social media that “the individual approached U.S. Border Patrol agents with the 9mm semi-automatic handgun seen here.”
DHS released a photo of a gun that ICE said the man was brandishing when he shot him in “self-defense.”
However, the new video circulating on social media showed that the man was holding a phone, not a gun, at the moments of the shooting.
