Good Charlotte to return to Australia in 2026 after 8-year hiatus: American rock band to perform in 5 cities across Australia and New Zealand; ticket sales to start on this date
This trip will be Good Charlotte’s first trip to Australia since appearing on the 2018 Download Festival lineup. The US group will return to New Zealand for the first time since 2017. The group’s announcement came on Monday, October 13, 2025, after billboards appeared across the country. The band announced arena shows in Perth, Brisbane, Bendigo, Sydney and Auckland.
“Australia is a very special place for Good Charlotte and me personally; it feels like a home away from home in so many ways, and we can’t wait to get back there for some big shows,” Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden said, as quoted by Rolling Stone. “It’s been so long since we’ve spent time with our Australian fans; we’re all in for a treat.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ to promote their latest album Motel Du Cap (the US band’s first album in seven years), Madden confirmed they are planning to travel to Australia in early 2026 for arena shows across the country.
“We were trying to organize surprise dates this year, but it was very difficult because of something about the venues,” Madden said.
“I don’t know. Regardless of the challenges this year, it was very difficult to get an appointment because we wanted to leave.” [the dates] when the record came. I think there will be arena shows, so it’s harder to move those things around. So I think we’ll get to the top of 26 as quickly as we can.” That’s what we’re talking about right now.”
Motel Du Cap is the band’s first full-length album since 2018’s Generation Rx. Good Charlotte released the single “Last December” in 2020.

Good Charlotte tour tickets
Tickets will be on general sale from 11:00 am on October 20, 2025 (Monday). According to Rolling Stone, billboards featuring a tour announcement with the text “Sydney, this song is dedicated to every kid picked last in gym class,” a reference to her debut single “Little Things” released in 2000, were seen across the country.
