Senegal parade Afcon trophy before Peru friendly despite being stripped of title by Caf

Despite being stripped of the title earlier this month, Senegal displayed their Africa Cup of Nations trophy ahead of their friendly against Peru at the Stade de France on Saturday.
Morocco was declared the winner of the 2025 Afcon tournament after the Confederation of African Football (Caf) overturned the final result in January.
With the score being 0-0, Senegalese players left the field in protest after the host Morocco was given an extra time penalty.
When they returned after a delay of nearly 17 minutes, Morocco failed to convert the penalty into a goal and Senegal secured a win in extra time.
Following an appeal from the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Caf ruled that Senegal had forfeited the match and Morocco was rewarded with a 3–0 victory.
Senegal appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) and said the court would decide the matter “as soon as possible”.
