Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi starts two-day tour of poll-bound Assam

He chairs the grand old party’s screening committee. He interacted with the party’s block level workers before finalizing the candidate list for the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam.

Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi began her two-day tour by visiting the revered Kamakhya temple in Guwahati.
While Priyanka Gandhi refrained from making any political statements at the revered Shaktipeeth, glimpses of her visit to the Kamakhya temple immediately went viral on social media, where she was seen sharing a lighter moment with a Sadhu who, among others, blessed her by saying that Gandhi would soon become the prime minister.
The Sadhu was seen saying, “Hamara beti sal Pradhan Mantri Banega” while placing his hands on Priyanka’s head.
On Wednesday, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi said Gandhi will finalize the names of party candidates for the Assam elections along with other members of the screening committee.
