“We must arm protesters in Iran NOW,” Cruz wrote in a post on X.
“If the Iranian people overthrow the Ayatollah, an oppressor who routinely chants ‘Death to America,’ it will make America much, much safer,” the Texas Republican added.
Cruz responded to another post from the Tehran Bureau, from an Iranian source detailing the rapidly deteriorating situation as security forces continue to suppress demonstrations.

“From reliable source in Tehran: Tell all your friends [abroad] – everyone you know: There is absolutely nothing we can do here in Iran,” the post read.
“They kill people in such a way, they attack so brutally, they attack us in such a way… We have lost so many lives that no one dares to go out anymore. They shoot directly with bullets. They kill directly. Even after killing, they come and cut off your head and inflict countless other violence on you.”
