Settibalijas Irked At Minister Subhash’s Comments

Kakinada:Some recent comments made by Labor Minister Vasamsetti Subhash have disturbed the Settibalija community.
Addressing the Settibalija Vana Samaradhana meeting held at Konkapalli near Amalapuram in Konaseema district the other day, Subhash stated that some people in the community were “useless” and wanted him to fulfill the promises he made long ago.
He also criticized Settibalija community leaders in YSRC without mentioning their names.
The Minister said that a leader (Ch.Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna) bowed his head before YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and brought disrepute of the society into disrepute.
There is now widespread criticism of the minister, with many saying he should not have spoken harshly about community leaders because it was not a party meeting.
YSRC central executive council member Pithani Balakrishna came out strongly against minister Subhash and said he should first explain the accounts of Settibalija Sangham.
Settibalija inquired about depositing Rs 1 crore in the Action Force Fund. “Before the elections, Subhash promised the people of the community to invest Rs 1 crore in SAF but has not done so for the last 17 months.”
He asked the minister not to scold or harass community leaders during the meeting as these are not party platforms.
“During the past 17 months, Subhash has failed to provide jobs to the unemployed youth in the society. Settibalijas did not ask him to establish an SAF or provide funds to them. But he himself promised the people that he would do so. Now he must fulfill his promise and do good to our people.”
Balakrishna alleged that the minister had no credibility in the Konaseema region and brought people from outside to the Vana Samaradhana meeting.
Meanwhile, some of the leaders of the settibalija community suggested that the minister should change his behavior as he will have a good political career in the future.
