Honduras beat Haiti to take top spot in World Cup qualifying group

Honduras defeated Haiti 3-0 in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying on Monday to move top of Group C and strengthen their bid to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Haiti entered the game as group leaders on goal difference after a 0-0 draw with Honduras last month, but the home side took control early and never looked back.

Honduras, which currently has two wins and two draws, tops the group with two qualifying matches remaining in November, while Haiti has fallen to second place with one win and two draws. The revamped qualifying format sees the final 12 CONCACAF teams divided into three groups, with the winner of each group advancing directly to the World Cup. The two best runners-up will advance to the intercontinental play-offs for a chance at qualification.
