Several killed as bus crashes into stop in Stockholm

Swedish police stated that many people were killed and injured when a bus crashed into a bus stop in the center of Stockholm, and that they had no information that this was an attack.

A spokesman for Stockholm rescue services said six people died in the incident, without giving the number of dead or injured.

The spokesman said that there were no passengers on the bus at the time.

“It is being investigated as manslaughter. The bus driver has been arrested but this is routine in an incident like this,” a police spokesman said, adding that they had no information that it was an attack.

These tragic treats were more people committed and wandering around the bus stops in central Stockholm. There are many people up to the family, or the day after. Vi vet ännu inte orsaken to detta, men just nu är mina tankar…— Ulf Kristersson (@SwedishPM) November 14, 2025

Police said they would not comment on the number, gender or age of those killed or injured.

Police, rescue teams and ambulances were working at the scene, police said.

A photo on the Aftonbladet newspaper’s website showed emergency services surrounding a blue double-decker bus, with pieces of debris strewn around the vehicle.

Police said the incident took place near the Royal Institute of Technology university.

“We don’t yet know what caused this, but my thoughts at the moment are primarily with those affected and their families,” Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said in a post on channel X.
