Several major closures on the roads this weekend

You will have to be patient while driving this weekend. Several major arteries in the metropolitan region will be closed between Friday evening and Monday morning, according to Mobilité Montréal.

The Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be completely closed from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. This closure will affect the connection between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Senneville.

Eastbound motorists will need to take Highway 30, then 20 to reach Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants. Those heading west will have to leave Highway 40 at exit 44 for a long detour via the service road and Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants.

The Ministry of Transport recommends planning your trips and allowing more time. The toll on Highway 30 and the Serge-Marcil Bridge will be suspended in both directions.

A closed tunnel and bridge

The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will not escape closures. Southbound, it will be closed from Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m. Motorists will have to take the Jacques-Cartier Bridge via a detour via Avenue Souligny and Boulevard René-Lévesque.

In the north direction, the closure will be even longer: from Friday evening to Monday morning. Users will once again have to pass through the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.

The Papineau-Leblanc bridge, which connects Laval to the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough, will be completely closed in both directions Friday and Saturday evening. Motorists will have to use the Pie-IX or Viau bridges to cross towards Laval, or the Médéric-Martin bridge to return to Montreal.

Other obstacles

Highway 30 will also be affected in Brossard, with a complete closure between exit 67 and the accesses to Highway 10. The ministry anticipates episodes of congestion on Saturday and Sunday.

A demonstration planned for Saturday in downtown Montreal will also result in the closure of certain exits from the Ville-Marie tunnel between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

From 1is December, motorists will have to get used to a new configuration on Highway 40 in Senneville. Traffic lanes will be diverted onto the westbound roadway, and some exits will be relocated.

Mobilité Montréal invites users to consult Québec 511 before taking the road, since the work may be modified due to weather conditions.
