Sex workers stage protest against West Bengal BJP president’s ‘insulting remarks’

Mr. Majumdar, who served as the president of the BJP’s Western Bengal unit, condemned the law and order of the West Bengal last Friday to discuss the situation by comparing the “sex workers in Sonagachi”.

During the protest, the protesters called for the police and the government to intervene and protect sex workers’ right to honor, and they have repeatedly claimed that they were not ideal against any political party or on the agenda.
Previously, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders expressed their protests against Mr. Majumdar’s comments.
“Sukanta Majumdar’s comments were very disgusting, embarrassing and very contempor… We are with these sex workers. They are extremely humiliated. The Trinamool Congress should express violent protests against such explanations and apologize to the sex workers in Sonagachi,” he said.
The debate appeared at a time when BJP took action against the Bolpur Police Police Station’s mother and wife, BJP’s Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal.
