“Sexy drag show” on deck for public servants pride week

As Monday kicks off Public Service Pride Weekpublic servants are expected to enjoy a whole range of work-hour events including drag queen bingo.

As reported Monday by Blacklock’s Reporterofficials at the Immigration Department — who are hosting the affair — declined to comment on the event, which is being held at an undisclosed cost.

“Join us for an afternoon of glitz, giggles and outrageous fun at Drag Bingo!” read the notice for Thursday’s event, hosted by noted Canadian drag queens Sunshine Glitterchild sand Saltina Shaker.
“Bring your lucky charms, your loudest cheers and your best bingo face, it’s going to be an event to remember!”
The event will also feature a “pride potluck” and meet-and-greet with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Director-General Emmanuelle Deault-Bonin.
The week is packed with work-hour events, seminars and conferences, Blacklock’s Reporter reported, including a Tuesday presentation by IRCC, entitled Unity in Diversitypromising to look “beyond microaggressions to focus on actionable tools that foster real belonging in the workplace,” and that participants should expect to learn how to “affirm distinctiveness and cultivate environments of respect and psychological safety,” and examine “signs of cumulative harm and discuss how to recognize and interrupt them.”
