The Indian Student Federation (SFI) activists, the wing of the ruling CPI (M) students, held a protest in front of Raj Bhavan on Monday, against the claim that RSS leaders’ photographs were shown on the official residence.
Some of the protesters tried to enter the campus of the governor’s official residence, but the police quickly stopped using force.
Part of the media recently reported to show photos of KB Hedgewar and Ideologue Golwalker, the founder of RSS and Bharat Mat in Raj Bhavan.
Left student activists, who raised slogans against Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, took photos of Mahatma Gandhi and Br Ambedkar in their hands and insisted on gluing Raj Bhavan to the compound walls.
While the police were forcibly shifted to the vehicle, many protesters could be heard by saying that Raj Bhavan was not a personal property of the governor.
In the early hours of the day, SFI State Secretary Sanjeev PS described Mr. Arlekar as an RSS leader and said that Raj Bhavan’s ancestors were not the ownership of his ancestors. However, he did not say other details in his social media mail.
The new queue exploded in the ruling leadership of the use of Bharat Mat Portrait at Raj Bhavan’s environmental day event, the leadership of the CPI, the second largest coalition partner of the ruling LDF.
Prasad, the CPI leader who boycotted the event, said that those in constitutional offices cannot turn government programs into political activities.
A similar view was also expressed by the leader of the CPI (M) and the Minister of General Education V Sivankutty.
However, the governor justified the action and said, “No matter what pressure, from which quarters, there will be no compromise in Bharat Mata”.
