Sharon Hodgson: Man charged with arson after fire at Labour MP’s constituency office

A Labor Party was accused of arson after a major fire in the election office of the deputy.

Joshua Oliver, a 28 -year -old man without a fixed address, was accused of a fire in the offices of Washington and Gateshead South MP Sharon Hodgson in the early hours of Thursday morning.

He shouted the facilities and devastated a small charity for people with very rare genetic diseases and a NHS mental health service for veterans based on the same building.

Fire inspectors were seen on Thursday in offices in the Concord region of Washington, Tyne and Wear.

Christopher Atkinson of the Royal Prosecutor’s Office said: “The Royal Public Prosecutor’s Office decided to judge Joshua Oliver with the arson after a police investigation into a fire in Sharon Hodgson Deputy.

“Our prosecutors tried to determine that there was enough evidence to bring the case to the trial and that it is in the public interest to maintain criminal cases.

“We worked closely with the Northumbria police while investigating.”

Oliver will appear at the Newcastle Magistrate Court on Saturday.

CPS urged people not to share online online that may be prejudiced to legal transactions.

Sharon Hodgson has been a member of parliament for Washington and Gateshead South since 2004.
