Shark Tank judge Anupam Mittal gets BIG relief: SC stays proceedings in ‘cheating case’ against Shaadi.com founder

On Thursday, the Supreme Court remained in operations against Shaadi.com and Shark Tank Judge Anupam Mittal in a case against him.

The complaint claimed that Mittal’s platform Shaadi.com did not verify the details of a man allegedly using a marriage platform to defraud a woman according to the report of the bar and bench.

Two judges of Justice Sandeep Mehta and Joymalya Bagchi announced the temporary order when Anupam Mittal had challenged the order of the Supreme Court of TaLangana who refused to justify the criminal case given to him. The bench asked a response from the TaLangana Police.

The case against Shaadi.com was opened after a woman who said that she had registered on the platform and then met a man who cheated on her. Woman claimed that the man took La10 Lakh threatened his paintings to install Morph and online when he demanded a reimbursement of a series of fake excuses and then asked for refund.

Although Anupam Mittal was not named in the original problem, the case later added him as a defendant during the investigation. The case claimed that Shaadi.com and Mittal could not confirm the man’s real identity before allowing Extension to use the platform to interact with others.

Mittal’s lawyer argued that the man confirmed his account with Mobile OTP, but did not upload a government identity that could be seen in his profile. She said she chose to chat with her outside the platform at her own request.

Mittal claimed that Shaadi.com clearly warned that they would not share financial details on the platform or not transfer money to other people on the platform.

For this reason, Shaadi.com cannot be held responsible for its independent actions as it performs individuals as a platform for occasionally connecting individuals.

The Supreme Court of TaLANgana refused to look at the arguments and decided that the investigation against Anupam Mittal would continue to be punished in less than seven years.
