New York: On the second day of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned the world leaders not to remain silent while Russia continued its aggression in Ukraine. His statements came during the high -level diplomatic activity, including a meeting on the Unga edges between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Zelenskyy said that many countries represented in the Hall of the Assembly were “at war or just trying to stop the war or try to stop someone or prepare for a war ve and stressed that the decision of ending Russia has a global community. The UN’s determination to the conflicts in Gaza, Syria and Ukraine told the “historical failure”, questioning the interest of deconsely international statements.
Ukrainian President stressed the reality of the modern conflict. “If a nation wants peace, it still has to work on weapons. The patient, but this is the truth. Not international law, not cooperation. Weapons decide who survives.”

He also expressed disappointment in the structure of the UN Security Council, which Russia has permanent membership and veto. “International law, if you don’t have strong friends who are really willing to stand up,” he said.
Moscow has repeatedly used the veto, the decisions in Ukraine and the humanitarian crises in Sudan, which is historically a unique record by another permanent member.
President Donald thanked the leaders he met, including Trump, and emphasized that support from G7 and G20 countries is important but inadequate.
“Very large G7 and G20, but in the end, this is all dependent on the United Nations. So don’t stay silent while Russia continues to drag this war. Please talk and condemn. Please join us to defend life and international law. People are waiting for action.”
Meanwhile, diplomacy continued behind the scenes. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during Unga’s high -level week.
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the meeting and even if Zelenskyy’s emergency objections echoed in the Assembly Hall, he reflected his efforts to manage tensions and discover potential ways for dialogue.
Among the other world leaders they talked about on Wednesday, Iran’s Masoud Pesshkian, Argentina Javier Milei and Syria’s temporary leader Ahmed al-Sharaaa-Yakışık, emphasized the scope of the first Syrian leader-Meclisle to appeal to Unga in six years.
Zelenskyy’s warnings and Rubio-Lavrov negotiations show the variable mixture of changing diplomacy, military realities and geopolitical brinking in New York, and follow the role of holding the world responsible on the fate of Ukraine.
