One arrested after report of ‘man carrying guns’ on train at Gatwick Airport

He was arrested after police reported a man carrying a gun on the train.
British Transport Police said they received a report of a man carrying a firearm on the train from Brighton to Gatwick at 12.45pm today.
The man, who was in possession of two imitation firearms, was arrested by Sussex Police officers at Gatwick Airport.
In a statement, British Transport Police said: “At 12.45pm on 20 February we received a report that a man was on a train from Brighton with a firearm.
“Sussex Police officers met the train at Gatwick Airport and arrested a man carrying two imitation firearms. BTP officers are investigating.”
Southern Railways wrote on social media that there will be no services to Gatwick Airport temporarily, but normal services continue.
Just before 14.30, it was stated that “The confusion caused by the police dealing with the incident at Gatwick Airport is now over. Services are no longer affected by this problem.”
Thameslink and Gatwick Express trains were also affected.
