Shocking moment Liam Lawson narrowly avoids RUNNING OVER a steward who ran across the track DURING his lap at Mexican GP: ‘I could have f***ing killed him!’

Formula 1 star Liam Lawson was meters away from hitting a marshal at the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday.
Lawson, who was abandoned by Red Bull after just two races in the current championship season, had a difficult race in North America, retiring late after a first-corner collision.
The New Zealander broke his front wing in an incident with Alex Albon and was forced to pit before moving to the back of the field. And because he was so far behind, he saw two police officers, who were on track to clear debris between the yellow flag, running across the track at the first corner.
Lawson eventually sent an X-rated message to his radio, saying: ‘Wait, fucking? Oh my god, are you kidding me? Did you just see this?
He added: ‘I could have killed him, mate.’
Meanwhile, speaking after the race, Lawson, 23, said: ‘I honestly couldn’t believe what I saw. I came out with a boxed new hard set and then I had to flip one and there were only two guys running around the track.
WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE
Liam Lawson came close to hitting a marshal at the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday
‘I could have killed him, mate,’ former Red Bull driver Lawson said on team radio
‘I almost hit someone, obviously it was very dangerous. Obviously there’s a miscommunication somewhere, but I’ve never experienced this before and haven’t really seen it in the past.
‘This is completely unacceptable. We cannot understand how police officers can be allowed to run like this on a live track. ‘I have no idea why, I’m sure we’ll find some sort of explanation but it really can’t happen again.’
Lando Norris found himself top of the drivers’ world championship standings following his victory in Mexico, although Lawson found himself in the pits again before the end of the race.
The Briton is currently just one point ahead of his teammate and rival Oscar Piastri, who is in fifth place. Max Verstappen is 35 points further behind.
Norris, who was booed by a large portion of the crowd, said after the race: ‘It’s one weekend at a time. So I’m happy, you know? I focused on myself. I keep my head down, ignore it all, and yes, I keep to myself and it’s working right now. That’s why I’m happy.’
‘I liked it very much, thank you guys. What a race, I was able to keep my eyes forward and focus on what I was doing.
‘It was a pretty simple race for me and that’s exactly what I was after. ‘A good start, a good start and a good first lap and I can go from there.’
