Balochistan Liberation Front Claims Killing Of Six Pakistani Soldiers | World News

The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in Ormara and Surab districts of Balochistan that killed six Pakistani soldiers on Saturday.

The Baloch Republican Guard (BRG) also said it carried out a grenade attack on the police in the province’s Kachhi district. In a press release issued on Friday, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said BLF fighters opened fire on Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) and the police checkpoint at Surab Bazaar on the evening of December 25, resulting in the death of two FC personnel and injuries to three others.

The group said its fighters launched an attack on a Pakistani military camp in Ormara’s Basol district the same day. The statement stated that the BLF sniper team initially shot and killed a Pakistani soldier stationed at the camp’s security post, before another team launched an attack with rocket-propelled grenades and heavy weapons minutes later.

The group claimed that three more personnel died and many others were injured. Pakistani forces “opened machine gun fire and fired mortars in different directions” in retaliation, according to the BLF, adding that its fighters withdrew safely upon completion of the operation.

It was emphasized that the organization “will continue to fight until the mission of our martyrs is fulfilled.” Making a separate statement, the Baloch Republican Guard (BRG) claimed that it carried out a grenade attack on police personnel in Dhadar city of Kachhi district on Friday.

BRG spokesman Dostin Baloch said its fighters used a grenade to target a police position, causing “casualties and material losses” among what the group called “occupation forces.” He claimed that such attacks would continue “until Balochistan is liberated”.

People of Balochistan are currently fighting for their independence from Pakistan. Various human rights organizations in Balochistan have repeatedly highlighted the crackdown by Pakistani forces in the province, including violent raids on the homes of Baloch leaders and civilians, illegal arrests, enforced disappearances, a ‘kill and dump’ policy, detention under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, and filing of trumped-up police cases.
