Calcutta High Court restrains West Bengal Government from giving monetary support to ‘jobless’ Group C, D school employees

On Friday, June 20, 2025, the Calcutta Supreme Court prevented the West Bengal government from applying a plan until 26 September to provide financial support to non -teaching personnel who lost their jobs after a Supreme Court decision staining the election process.
On June 9, 2025, the court decided against the Group C against D, against 25,000 ₹ 25,000 and 20,000 ₹ 20,000, against Duts of the Supreme Court.

In a temporary order, Justice Amrita Sinha prevented the state government from giving any effect or more impact on the plan to provide monetary assistance to non -teaching personnel until September 26 or earlier.
He directed the state government to submit a statement against the contents of the petitions within four weeks and to respond by petitions within two weeks.

The Western Bengal Government brought a plan to provide “limited livelihood, support and social security” temporarily “limited livelihood, support and social security” to the troubled families of non -teaching personnel in the 2016 election process carried out by the West Bengal School Service Commission, subject to the orders of any competent court.
Approximately 26,000 out -of -instructions of the Western Bengal Government and channel schools lost their jobs in the Supreme Court decision, which found that the 2016 election process was stained.
