Two Seats For Women, One For SC/ST In Multi-State Coop Boards: Amit Shah

New Delhi: On Tuesday, the Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah said that two chairs were separated for planned castes or planned tribes in the boards of multi -state cooperative societies in response to Parliament, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s cooperation sector.
In a written reply to Lok Sabha, the Shah said that the government added similar provisions to Model Güle Güle law for the primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) distributed to all states. These measures aim to make PACS membership more inclusive by providing adequate representation for women and SC/ST communities.
Gandhi sought details about government initiatives to increase the participation of SC and ST on the creation of cooperative societies. In addition, he asked whether the government has exempted for compulsory allocation within the scope of SC/ST sub -plan for large plans implemented by the Ministry of Cooperation, especially for the establishment of ethanol plants.
Shah said that the Ministry has applied many plans to the National Cooperative Development Company (NCDC), including interventions for aid and assistance and cooperatives to compute PACs, to strengthen cooperative sugar factories, to strengthen cooperative sugar factories.
The Shah, “These plans, SC/ST farmers, including the farmers of cooperative societies benefit from the benefit of the members.” He said.
Within the scope of the help grant program to strengthen the cooperative sugar factories, the Government gave a grant of 1,000 RS to NCDC for two 500 RS installments during 2022-23 and FY 2024-25 FY.
This financing enabled NCDC to benefit from additional market borrowings and provide 10,000 RS financial assistance to collaborative sugar factories. Aid includes ethanol plants, cogeneration plants, meeting the operating capital requirements, or a combination of these objectives.
The program has caused NCDC to have 109 credit and benefits the total financial aid with 10.005 Crore and 56 cooperative sugar factories.
