Fury as ‘Death to IDF’ chanted on Keir Starmer’s constituency streets | UK | News

While controversial singer Bobby Vylan was expected to give a concert in London, protesters in the Prime Minister’s constituency were seen chanting anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic “Death to the IDF” slogans. Police are on alert tonight as the controversial singer, who shouted anti-Israel slogans during her summer performance at Glastonbury, is expected to perform in London tonight. The rapper, who is the lead singer of the band Bob Vylan, shouted “Death, death to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces)” during his live BBC performance at the Worthy Farm festival in June. His performance sparked harsh criticism from MPs and community groups after the BBC did not stop the live broadcast.

Bob Vylan will play the O2 Forum in Sir Keir Starmer’s constituency Kentish Town tonight and protesters from rival pro-Palestinian and Stop Hate groups are expected outside the venue. In the statement made by the Met Police, it was stated that both protests should end by 21.30.

Following their appearance at Glastonbury, the band were dropped from a number of festivals and performances, including the Radar festival, a show at a German music venue and a US tour, after their visas were cancelled.

The frontman, whose real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, is understood to have voluntarily taken part in a police interview on Monday after Avon and Somerset Police received advice from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). This comes after British Airways stopped sponsoring the Louis Theroux podcast in October, following an interview with Robinson-Foster in which he said he had “no regrets” about the chant and would “do it again tomorrow”.
