SC said Kolkata Chief Justice may also appoint civil judges for SIR process

The SC says the Kolkata CJ also has the right to appoint Civil Judges with at least three years of experience in both senior and junior divisions.

If more human resources are needed, the Calcutta Court of Justice may request its counterparts in neighboring Odisha and Jharkhand to provide serving or retired judicial officers for the verification exercise, the SC said.

The SC requests the Bench of Justices of the Jharkhand and Orissa High Courts to consider with understanding the request of the Kolkata HC CJ, if made.
