Hitec City road buckles under tech traffic boom, clogs with 1.5 lakh vehicles per day

A long stretch between the Lemon Tree Premier and Trident in Madhabad from Cyberabad tests the patience of thousands of people every day. This part of the Hitec City Main Way, with a waiting time of peak clock speeds as low as 10 kmph and up to 30 minutes, has become a malicious bottleneck in one of the most intense corridors of Haydarabad.

Others include this corridor on the JNTU route from IKEA for about five lakh employees who go to technology parks such as Raheja MindSpace, City of Information and Capitald.

According to data from Cyberabad Traffic Police, the traffic volume on this stretch reaches the summit in more than 7,000 vehicles per hour. In total, approximately 1.5 lakh uses this corridor on a daily basis and travels to more than 70,000 jobs in all directions. The number of vehicles is rising on Tuesday and Wednesday, which is the preferred office days under hybrid working models.

The problem is a case of demand more than supply. The road near the Trident Hotel is a pinch of a pinch of the underlying strip suddenly joins only two. Madhapur traffic DCP T. Sai Manohar, “Raidurgam underpass three lanes, Deloitte Drive two lanes and a large strip of MindSpace Rotary is united in this place, but there is not enough asphalt to flow smoothly,” he said. “During the busy hours, Ikea Flyover goes to Jntu and takes almost an hour, the vehicles are crawling at an average speed of 10 km / h at heavy hours, and otherwise 15-25 kmph,” he added.

“I was stuck from KPHB to Ikea Circle for 26 minutes from 36 minutes to 26 minutes,” a suburban wrote, reflecting the disappointment of thousands of people. The vehicles cross the Trident Hotel to get stuck again at the Cyber Towers junction, which is expected by another bottleneck.

In addition to misery, they are mostly vehicle dumps due to fuel outlets and irregular parking. “For more than 20,000 employees from Cyber Gateway 1 and 2, the collection and release scores are further clogged. Since the metro station is about 1.5 km away, most employees prefer cabins or private vehicles instead of walking.” Mr. Manohar said.

Mixed wires and expanding hopes in the middle of the rocks

Relaxation is on the road – at least on paper. After more than one representation to the Industrial Infrastructure Company (TGIIC), the road expansion proposal finally received approval. The tenders have been cleaned and the groundwork is expected to start until the end of August. The plan involves adding a existing two -lane stretch, which the authorities say that they can reduce their time and traveling time for up to 30 minutes.

However, even this measure drew attention to DCP.

First, there is a stone outlet that needs a controlled explosion before fresh strips near the Trident. Then, two main underground electrical cables (11kV and 133kV) and other electrical cables must be transported. In addition, during construction, one of the existing strips will be prevented, which can temporarily worsen the blockage before it becomes better.

To reduce temporary traffic, the traffic police re -directed vehicles from Lemon Tree to Tech Mahindra Road, which led to the Hitex signal and Yashoda. While this pervert adds 1.5 km, the authorities say it is effective in distributing the traffic load and holding the travel time roughly the same.

Mr. Manohar said that the stretch for the last 30-40 years, although he witnessed enlarged growth, said that the stretch had only two lanes. Uz We are very forcing very much with the relevant departments to speed up. The expansion needs to be completed by the end of the year, ”he said.

Next way: pods and parallel roads

The expanding work offers a short -term solution, while the authorities also banking to futuristic transportation options. A long-term plan, which is currently discussing with the Büyük Hyderabad Municipal Company (GHMC), contains light, six-person controlled capsules running in upgraded parts that will directly connect metro stations to technology campuses. “These driverless capsules, which weighs only 70-80 kilograms and designed to carry at least 500 kilograms, can provide the last mile connection and alleviate the pressure on the roads. However, this project is five to ten years away,” he said.

In the meantime, alternative ways are taken into consideration. A second corridor through Inorbit Shopping Center-Durgam Cheruvu-100-meter road can help passengers to Kukatpally. Parvath Nagar Rub and Tech Mahindra Link Road are also seen as temporary pressure valves.

For now, Haydarabad’s technology employees will have to continue their daily scans through Hitec City main way. The countdown began at the end of the year, but until then, extending from Ikea to Jntu, it continues to be a slow -moving patience and durability test.
