Six arrested for abducting woman over inter-caste marriage in Erode

Six people, including a woman’s parents and relatives, were arrested on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 for allegedly kidnapping her after marrying a man from another intent.

22 -year -old M. Vijay from Kokkarayanpettai in Namakkal region and 20 -year -old Archana married on June 28 this year. The couple lived in Evr Street in Kalukadadaimedu. Because they belonged to different castes, their unions were greeted against Archana’s parents.

Archana worked in a center in Appaickenpalayam, and Vijay left her in a two -wheeled every day.

On Tuesday, while the couple traveled, a car seized two -wheeled people. According to the police, Archana’s family Selvam and Kavitha kidnapped him with his four relatives and took him to the car. Vijay immediately filed a complaint with Erode Güney police.

A search was launched and their vehicles passed the Varatugallam control pole in Anthiyur Taluk before going to Kargur Hills through Bargur Hills. The police seized the car in Bargur and saved Archahana. Six defendants were taken to the police station.

Selvam, Kavitha, Palanisamy, Karumalaiyan, Shanmugan and Yuvaraj a lawsuit against. They were produced in court and was prison.
