Stevie Nicks among Taylor Swift’s trusted advisors for industry guidance

Taylor Swift has a simple answer to critics who say it’s time for her to step out of the spotlight.
During an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Wednesday, the 35-year-old singer talked about the people she can turn to for advice in the industry, saying she’s “one of those things she looks up to.”[s] The most important thing in people is career length.”
“Career longevity, friendship longevity, relationship longevity,” he said. “‘How do you keep a good thing going?’ “I think there are some in our society that really love it and respect longevity.”
He continued: “Also, ‘Give someone else a chance. Can’t you just walk away so we can talk about how good you are?’ There are also corners like. I said, ‘I don’t want it’.”

Swift went on to say that there are three people she can turn to for advice: Singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks, record producer and songwriter Max Martin, and her fiancé, professional football player Travis Kelce, and “I can talk to him about all that.”
The “Anti-Hero” singer also noted what a “good year” 2025 was for her, saying she felt “so grateful” after getting engaged to Kelce and getting her masters back that same year.
“The two things you just mentioned, getting engaged to the love of my life, getting my music back, are two things that will never happen,” she told Colbert. “These things might never have happened. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, it’s just a matter of time.’ Both of these things might have never happened in my life. I’m so grateful that those two things happened.”
He later cited his fans as the reason he was able to get his masters back.

Kelce and Swift announced their engagement on Instagram in August, sharing a joint post of Kelce kneeling and surrounded by flowers with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
The two started dating after attending one of her stops during her Eras Tour, and she later appeared on his podcast “New Heights” to share how disappointed she was that she couldn’t meet him after the concert.
The Eras Tour was a major undertaking for Swift. It lasted approximately two years, starting in March 2023 and ending in December 2024; During this time he traveled to five continents and performed 149 shows, each lasting three hours.
The singer also revealed that she caught stomach flu ‘many times’ during the Eras Tour and performed despite not feeling well.
“My goal was to never tell them you had the stomach flu,” Swift said.
Swift said she feels like a “flickering lightbulb” at the end of each show and has a very specific routine for relaxing.

“I’m going to go back to the hotel, take off my costume, go into the bath. I’m going to go right into the bath, it’s mermaid time. And then I’m going to get as much room service as possible,” she said. “My job is to come up with ideas for things, so if I can turn off ideas for a moment, that’s very exciting.”
Part of shutting down the idea part of your brain involves true crime, as the singer notes: “I’ll put my Dateline on.” He also admitted to listening to audiobooks, which often feature a mysterious love story, murder plot, ghosts, or characters who turn out not to be who they initially appear to be.
