Smirking thug beat woman so badly she needed reconstructive surgery after random attack | UK | News

A brutal thug who randomly attacked a woman, repeatedly punching her in the face and leaving her with horrific injuries. The victim was walking along Seaview Road in Gillingham, Kent, on April 23, 2025, when she was attacked by Levi Silcott, who dragged her across the ground into an alley and then subjected her to a horrific beating.
The woman, who never met Silcott, suffered facial fractures and has since undergone medical and reconstructive surgery. Investigators reviewed a significant amount of CCTV footage from the area and noticed a man exiting the car wearing clothing similar to that worn by the criminal.
Officers then tracked the car’s movements and their investigation identified Silcott as the attacker.
Silcott, of Simmons Drive, Dagenham, was arrested in Ilford on May 21 and subsequently charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was taken into custody, pleaded guilty in court and was convicted following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court.
The 26-year-old man was sentenced in the same court on Wednesday.
“It was despicable that he denied his actions and put the brave victim through a grueling trial. His place is in prison and Gillingham is a much safer place for women in his absence.”
