Smriti Retains Top Spot, Harmanpreet Moves To 7th in Women’s ODI Rankings

Dubai: India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has moved up to seventh position even as her deputy Smriti Mandhana continues to retain the top spot in the latest women’s ODI rankings released on Tuesday.
After New Zealand legend Sophie Devine dropped two places to ninth, Kaur moved up one place to seventh.
Jemimah Rodrigues held steady in 12th place.
New Zealand’s Maddy Green’s fine knock of 94 in the final match of the ICC Women’s Championship series against Zimbabwe helped her make a significant move up the rankings.
The 33-year-old’s 73-ball knock in Dunedin helped him climb five places to 17th among batsmen with a career-best 610 rating points as he contributed to his side’s mammoth 200-run victory that capped off a 3-0 series win.
All-rounder Amelia Kerr, who won the Player of the Match award with all-round efforts of 80 and five for 22 in the final ODI, also bagged the Player of the Series award as she improved from 21st to 19th among batsmen and recorded over 600 rating points in both the batting and bowling ranks.
Isabelle Gaze (up three places to 61st) is another New Zealand player to move up the batting rankings, while in the bowling rankings, seam bowlers Rosemary Mair (up seven places to 58th) and Bree Illing (up five places to 79th).
In the T20I rankings, skipper Amelia Kerr smashed 78 off 44 deliveries in the opening match against South Africa at Mount Maunganui to reach a career-best rating of 694 and retain eighth spot in the bowling rankings.
Georgia Plimmer’s score of 63 helped her move from 50th to 41st and also contributed to New Zealand’s 90-point win.
In the T20I bowling rankings, Jess Kerr’s two for 13 helped her move up 11 places to 23rd, while Sophie Devine’s career-best four for 12 lifted her from 104th to 79th.
