“Saturday Night Live” took aim at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) again on Saturday, depicting Border czar Tom Homan conducting a meeting with ICE agents during a cold open.
“My name is Tom Homan. I’m sure many of you are wondering why the last cast member, Greg Bovino, was dismissed,” said Pete Davidson, who plays Homan. “I want to emphasize that it wasn’t because he did a bad job or publicly lied about the shooting of an American citizen or even—uh-oh!—dressed like a Nazi. He was filmed doing those things. And the president didn’t like it.”
The show also criticized the immigration enforcement agency in its “Weekend Update” segment last week. When Davidson asked what the agents were doing in Minneapolis, one agent responded and said “pass.”
Davidson asked the agents in the skit again: “Come on guys, what are we doing in Minneapolis?”

“This may be wrong, but Army?” someone else responded.
Davidson, who plays Homan, later said, “We are here to detain and deport illegal immigrants who commit crimes.”
“This is literally the first I’ve heard of this,” an agent told Davidson.

“It shouldn’t be like that. Let me know you’re being told what to do.” Davidson asked. “Crazy,” one agent replied.
SNL cut a joke about ICE from its live broadcast earlier this month.

“New cast member Tommy Brennan, who grew up in St. Paul, had prepared a personal monologue for the Jan. 17 episode, which marked the show’s return from vacation.” Minnesota Star Tribune reported on Wednesday. “But the nearly four-minute piece was cut between dress rehearsal and live broadcast. This is not unusual; producer and show creator Lorne Michaels often eliminates skits at the last minute for time reasons.”
Monologue published later on “Saturday Night Live’s” official YouTube channel. The program shares sketches that are not broadcast frequently but are still performed in front of a live audience.
