Snow expected Sunday through Monday

(WBRE/WYOU) — Some areas in the region could see up to 10 inches of snow this weekend.

Temperatures will remain the same Friday night, with a slight chance of rain or snow.

Temperatures on Saturday will be in the 40s and mostly cloudy.

A coastal storm will move northeast on Saturday before entering the region on Sunday.

The coastal storm will bring light snow on Sunday, but will continue Sunday night into Monday morning.

Temperatures will hover around 30 degrees throughout Sunday.

Winter storm watches are in effect for Monroe, Carbon and Schuylkill counties.

The heaviest snow will be toward the coast, but high-elevation areas could see 6 to 10 inches of snow, valley cities 3 to 6 inches and northern central Pennsylvania could see 1 to 3 inches.

We’ll see temperatures drop further into the 30s on Monday; The same situation is seen on Tuesday before temperatures rise later in the week.
