Snow squall warning issued for parts of Massachusetts
We are receiving a WEATHER WARNING from the Boston 25 Weather Team due to a blizzard warning in our area.
This warning will be in effect until 8:30 a.m. for Southwest Essex, Norfolk, Middlesex, Northwest Bristol, Suffolk, Worcester, East Hampden and Northwest Plymouth counties, according to the National Weather Service.
Heavy snowfall accompanied by high winds in these areas can cause snowfall and visibility to drop rapidly, with wind gusts up to 35 mph possible.
“Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes,” the National Weather Service wrote in the warning.
Affected areas include Boston, Worcester, Providence, Lowell, Cambridge, Brockton, Quincy, Lynn, Newton, Warwick, Cranston, Somerville, Pawtucket, Framingham, Waltham, Malden, Brookline, Medford, Taunton and Weymouth.
