So, you’ve robbed the Louvre of its crown jewels. Now what?

At 9.30am on Sunday, four men in a ladder-mounted truck pulled up to the Louvre’s Apollo gallery. At 9.38am they were speeding away on a pair of high-powered scooters. Eight of the French Crown Jewels.
The national art museum estimated the loss at €90 million, but the French Interior Ministry said in a statement immediately afterwards that the value of the irreplaceable cultural heritage was “incalculable”.
This lightning-fast heist made headlines around the world and posed some immediate problems for the people who pulled it off.
