‘Sobering’: Australian universities drop in world ranks
Australian universities sunk a prestigious world ranking list, but many of them showed their decreases positively.
Melbourne University has been the most ranked Australian Institution in the 2026 QS World University ranking.

NSW University ranks 19th in the 2025 edition, while the University of Sydney fell seven.
